Leading Asia Myanmar

Admission Process

Applying to Leading Asia Myanmar International School involves several steps. All the steps are explained in the following and parents and students are warmly welcomed to contact the school for any information.
Application is accepted all year round. New students may join the school at any time of the year, given the appropriate class has the capacity to accept. If the classes have students over the capacity, the applications will be placed on the waiting list.

The application process is as follows:
1.    Fill out the application form and supply documents
2.    Pay registration fee
3.    Interview and placement assessment
4.    Acceptance and enrolment
5.    Preparation for school begins

Step 1:

All applicants are required to complete the application form (either online or at school) and provide the necessary documents.

Admissions Documentation

The LAMIS application form

Copy of the birth certificate and vaccination report card

Exit document from previous school (Elementary school onwards)

Copies of the student’s school reports for the previous two years

Reports of the results of any special academic or psychological assessments

Step 2:

Once the application form has been submitted, the candidate needs to pay the one-time Application Fee and Registration Fee in order to be scheduled for the Interview and Placement assessment. The Application Fee is non-refundable and only for new students. The existing students will be automatically considered for the placement of the next grade.

Step 3:

All applicants are required to come for a face to face interview at school and Placement assessment. This process is to ensure that Leading Asia Myanmar is the right fit for the student and to enrol in the appropriate grade. Parents are required to inform the school on any special educational needs, e.g. learning difficulties or gifted nature.
If the family of the applicant fail to supply the relevant information regarding these needs, Leading Asia Myanmar International School reserves the right to close/reject an application at any stage in the process. Even after acceptance of the applicant, if the school holds the opinion of not being able to accommodate the needs of a student regarding educational, social, emotional and physical perspective, the school reserves the right to terminate the contract.
Applicants will be assigned to the appropriate class on the basis of several factors and this decision is solely made by the school. If the students need more help in terms of language ability (English or Burmese), the students will be able to attend additional language classes at our school, with the option of receiving extra support in class and after school.

Step 4:

Once the student has successfully completed the placement assessment and the family has attended the interview, the school will be in a position to offer a place for the student at the school. In order to secure the offer, the Enrolment and Deposit Fee must be paid within 5 working days and full payment of all remaining fees is required to be made before the first day of attending the school.

Step 5:

Preparation for school includes: school uniform, drop off/pick up arrangements, parents or guardians attending the School Orientation session, meal preferences/arrangement, books and school supplies. Only parents who have registered may attend the School Orientation session.
